The Institute of Nutrition proposed a diet based on 10 recommendations for Appropriate Food Intake
Eat regular meals / Eat breakfast
Consume 3 meals per day; avoid big meals in the evening.
Enjoy eating / Read food labels social part of eating
Provide healthy family meals.
Eat moderate amounts of food and sufficient energy to meet the body's requirements
Consume foods according to body requirements.
Eat more vegetables and fruits
Increase intake of fibre (vegetable, roots, tubers and fruits)
Consume fish, poultry, eggs, lean meat, legumes and pulses
Consume appropriate amounts of protein-rich food. Eat both animal and vegetable protein and at least 3 meals with fish per week. Increase intake of products from soybean such as tofu and soybean milk.
Moderate fat intake
Limit fat consumption.
Moderate sugar intake
Limit sugar consumption.
Achieve and maintain a healthy body weight and exercise regularly
Maintain a dynamic, healthy lifestyle and take up regular and appropriate sports activities.
Eat clean and safe foods
Ensure properhygiene so that food cannot be a source of disease.
Adequate food and nutrient intake must be consumed during pregnancy and lactation..
Mothers should eat, drink and sleep sufficiently to have enough milk to breast-feed.
Exclusive breast-feeding is recommended from birth to at least 4 - 6 months.
Mothers should completely breast-feed for the first 4 months and continue until as long as she has milk until 18 - 24 months.
Complementary feeding can be started between 4 - 6 months
Promote complementary feeding in the 5th month (add oil, vegetable and protein source to the porridge).
