Eat a variety of foods
Enjoy a variety of foods.
Consume adequate fluids
Drink plenty of water daily.
Eat complex carbohydrates and whole grains
Consume more rice and other cereal products, legumes, fruit and vegetables.
Moderate fat intake
Minimize fat in food preparation and choose foods that are low in fat and cholesterol.
Moderate salt intake
Use small amounts of salt and choose foods low in salt.
Moderate sugar intake
Reduce sugar intake and choose foods low in sugar.
Achieve and maintain a healthy body weight and exercise regularly
Maintain a healthy body weight by balancing food intake with regular physical activity.
Exclusive breast-feeding is recommended from birth to at least 4 - 6 months.
Practice and promote breast-feeding.
