Eat a variety of foods
Eat with moderation and include a variety of foods for nutrients in all your meals.
Eat regular meals / Eat breakfast

Eat moderate amounts of food and sufficient energy and to meet the body's requirements

Consume adequate fluids
Drink abundant clean and safe water throughout the day.
Eat complex carbohydrates and whole grains
Consume a variety of breads, cereals, pastas, flours, starch and legumes.
Eat more vegetables and fruits
Consume fruits and vegetables every day of all types and colors.
Drink enough milk and consume calcium-rich foods
Consume milk, yogurt or cheese everyday, they are necessary at all ages.
Consume fish, poultry, eggs, lean meat, legumes and pulses
Eat a wide variety of red and white meats, removing the visible fat. (legumes are promoted in the group of cereals).
Moderate fat intake
Prepare your foods preferably with raw oils and avoid cooking with grease.
Moderate salt intake
Decrease intake of salt.
Moderate sugar intake
Decrease intake of sugar.
Moderate alcohol consumption
Decrease consumption of alcoholic beverages, avoid with children, teenagers and pregnant or lactating women.
Achieve and maintain a healthy body weight and exercise regularly
Enjoy physical activity various times during the week which helps in overall wellbeing.
Exclusive breast-feeding is recommended from birth to at least 4 - 6 months.
Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended until 6 months.
Complementary feeding can be started between 4 - 6 months
Weaning should start at 6 months.
